  • TAKING THE GENDER OF THE INSURED INDIVIDUAL INTO ACCOUNT AS A RISK FACTOR IN INSURANCE CONTRACTS CONSTITUTES DISCRIMINATION
  • The Court of Justice of the European Union has notified in writing its Chamber judgment in the case of Association belge des Consommateurs Test-Achats ASBL and Others v Conseil des ministres. The Court considers that the taking the gender of the insured individual into account as a risk factor in insurance contracts constitutes discrimination.
    The rule of unisex premiums and benefits will apply with effect from 21 December 2012 .
